In four hours, the participants will learn the basics of mosaic-making techniques and will be able to make their own piece of mosaic art inspired by Jordanian traditions. This experience will connect you to the people of Amman and its Downtown. Participants will meet on King Hussein Street and will head to the Duke's Art and Design Center a short walk away. Host Jacob will give an introduction about the significance and history of this art-form in this region. He will give them a tour of his gallery and will tell stories for each displayed piece. Then participants will begin their own works, learning about the technique step by step from Jacob. At the end of the experience, they will have their own mosaic creation. This will allow them to take the treasured memory home with them and keep their connection to the people of Jordan and Amman.
